I need to be able to push "intercom" and start talking without any action from the person in the other room. Perhaps it makes a sound or slight delay, but the point is the other person can be washing the dishes and can hear me without having
I have a panasonic cordless and it allows you to talk from the base and the handset. The handset has a speaker button and you can answer the phone with that button. Then walk around and talk. The range is about 300 feet.
