What is the difference between a tele-copier and a fax machine?

I recently went to industry for a law firm and saw on the letterhead the "telecopier" compute. No fax number was lsited, and as far as I can tell their tele-copier IS a fax machine. Walks like one and talks like one, etc. Being a Chat Nazi

in the conclusive analysis, probably no difference. I would guess the term hinges on the motor car's intended use. If it was basically designed as a photocopier, or intended to be mostly tempered to for that purpose, but it also has fax capabilities,
