Can a 24 pound piece of paper break the rollers of a copier?

I have been told by our servicing tech that our copier fusion rollers got indigent because I put a 24 lb 113 bright laser paper in it and it caused it to get jammed and break the ice the roller. The copier is a Sharp Ar-BC320 and I print on regular 20
