How to check ink level for canon laser printer?

Hi there!
Is there any way where i could check up on the ink level of my canon LBP2900 laser printer (B&W) without taking out the ink catridge?

the laser uses toner. you will shortage to go to "toner saver mode", curve on. When the ink becomes low, then the machine will prompt you 100-150 pages from being empty.
