Brother Auto Document Feeder - Copiers

I have a Brother all in one MFC-7820N. What are the limits of it's auto document feeder (ADF)?

I after the scanner to automatically scan stacks of photos using it's ADF. However, I'm white-livered that only regular paper should be put in the ADF because photos might burn color onto the ADF thereby damaging it; or even worse, the ADF might devastation

I also have a Brother MFC-5440CN, and my in person experience, is that they do not like thick paper. I would not run photos thru there, I only use my ADF for standard essay. It may work, but I myself would not recommend it. If you wanted to try, take
